  • Here we are providing you some tips on health and nutrition that can help you to live a healthy and long life.

    Drink a Glass of Milk

Cow’s milk is a good source of protein, calcium, potassium, and vitamin D. but you can also drink “milk” made from nuts, rice, soy, even oats and hemp. These beverages are not nutritionally equivalent to dairy milk, but each has something to offer, especially if fortified. And they can be good choices if you are lactose-intolerant (that is, have trouble digesting milk sugar) or just don’t like cow’s milk.

    Eat Popcorn for your Health

Did you know popcorn is a healthy whole grain, the kind linked to lower rates of diabetes and heart disease? It’s true. People who eat it every day consume 250% more whole grains and 22% more fibre than those who don’t, according to a survey from the center for Human Nutrition in Omaha, Nebraska. But don’t view this as a license to pig out on “loaded” popcorn at the movies or on the couch: One tablespoon of butter adds 8 grams of artery-clogging fat and 100 calories. A little oil is better- but naked, i.e. air popped corn, is best.

    Consuming Oil or Ghee

Every tablespoon of oil contributes an extra 120 calories to your meal. To burn it off you’ll need to walk 40 minutes. Remember – this number is for just one ingredient! Bad fats are unhealthy by any name. Call it home-made ghee, asli ghee, desi ghee or cow’s milk made ghee – they all are very high in saturated fat and therefore not heart healthy.

Will drinking too much Tea/Coffee set up for kidney stones?

About 75% of all kidney stones are made of calcium and oxalate, a substance found mainly in plant foods. About half the time such stones form because of high levels of calcium in the urine which, experts believe, is probably an inherited tendency.Coffee and tea contain oxalate, but there’s now a lot of evidence increased fluid intake, particularly in form of coffee or tea, decreases the risk of calcium oxalate stones. It’s not clear why. Caffeine is a diuretic, and by encouraging urination, it may make urine more dilute so stones are less likely to form.
